Asbury Tabernacle was founded by Merrill R. Vaughn in 1947 at which time he introduced the Asbury Hour, broadcasting live from the church on radio every Sunday morning.

In 1991, his son Rev. Richard Vaughn assumed many church responsibilities and to this day is broadcasting live on Sundays from eleven until noon on WCVX Christian Talk, 1160 AM in Cincinnati, OH.
